Last Update:
This my (*ahem*) mandatory personal home page on the web. It doesn't have much on it, because I spend most of my time working on my Miami Dolphins Web Page. I believe that it is the oldest Dolphins page on the web and as you can see if you look at it, I spend entirely too much time working on it.
The only reason I have this page is to tell people a little about myself and to introduce them to some of my favorite links.
You may reach me by sending email to [email protected]. I have numerous other email accounts, but this is the one that I use most often.
Below is some info about my work, my hobbies, and some other things.
Work...
I have 15 years of experience in computer support, including 12 as a Unix Systems Administrator. Currently, I work as a Principal Systems Programmer for a major financial management firm.
My Sysadmin philosophy is summed up rather well on the BOFH Website. Also, check out the Alt.Sysadmin.Recovery FAQ (particularly the section on Lusers) to find out what we sysadmins really think about our jobs and the users who waste... er, um.... who fill our lives with joy every day.
Play...
In my copious free time, I watch the Miami Dolphins and work on my Miami Dolphins Web Page. I also post regular reports on the Dolphins to the Internet newsgroups and to the mailing list on the Dolphins that I moderate.
When I'm not doing that, I'm playing Computer Games, reading books (Science Fiction in particular), or sometimes even acting and/or singing.
Other things about me...
I grew up in Miami, which accounts for my unnatural fondness for the Dolphins. However, I believe that the best way to visit Miami is over the Web.
I attended college at a small trade school in the Boston area and that accounts for my love the Boston area (but not the New England Patriots.)
While in college, I majored in Astronomy and Planetary Science, which was a lot of fun, but not particularly useful in finding a job.
After college, I spent some time with Uncle Sam's Misguided Children (USMC). I find that I can still blame most of my copious character flaws (such as the fact that I actually like to get up early) on Marine training.
While a Marine, I got to play with some of greatest toys on the planet, such as the A-6 Intruder attack aircraft and the M60 Main Battle Tank
After I got out of the Marines with my degree in Planetary Science, and my useful Marine skills of flying jets and commanding tank platoons, I naturally became a Unix Systems Administrator, which I remain to this day.
I moved to Boston on leaving the Corps, because I like it here. Presently, I live in eastern Mass - northeast of Boston - with my wife, my amazing daughter and two cats.
Politically, I suppose that I am a social liberal, an economic moderate and a foreign policy conservative, insofar as those labels have any real meaning. Philosophically and religiously, I subscribe to the tennants of Wicca, although it's been a while since I've danced skyclad under a full moon.
And last, but not least, I believe (for what it's worth) that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone ... which is certainly more than you ever wanted to know about me.
