Nov 19, 1997: -- Ray Nealy Signed off of Practice Squad --

The Dolphins announced today that they had signed fullback Ray Nealy off of the Dolphins' practice squad to the regular squad. He signed a 2 year deal that brought the Dolphins' roster back up to it's 53 man limit after they waived Dewayne Dotson yesterday.

Nealy was signed this spring as an undrafted rookie free agent and spent all spring and summer at the Dolphins training camp. He was signed this fall to the practice squad.

He is 5'11" and 235 pounds and he played his college ball at the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

My Comments:

The word on Nealy is that he had a good training camp with the team. He has been on the practice squad, so JJ is obviously giving him a chance to see what he can do with the regular squad. If he plays at all, it will be on special teams.
