Jun 16, 1997: -- Sam Madison Signs 4 year Deal --
ESPN is reporting this afternoon that the Dolphins have signed
CB Sam Madison to a 4 year deal today, bringing the number of draft
choices that have signed to 6. ESPN didn't report on Madison's deal,
but last week, the Sun-Sentinel reported last week that it is in the
neighborhood of $2.2 million over 4 years.
My Comments:
In some ways, I'm more excited to have Madison signed than I
am to have Yatil Green inked. I think that Green is more of a project
and will be a big contributor in the future, but I think that Madison
has an excellent chance to be a big contributor this year - perhaps
even to be a starter.
With the right cornerback spot essentially wide open, and with
JJ's preference for his own draft picks, Madison has a good shot at
being a starting rookie this year.
