Mar 11, 1997: -- Lamar Thomas Signed --
The Dolphins announced today that they have re-signed WR Lamar
Thomas to a 2 year contract for undisclosed terms. However, the terms
are rumored to be a minimum wage contract. Thomas joined the Dolphins
last year as a free agent and during the 1996 season, he caught 10
passes for 166 yards and 1 touchdown.
The Dolphins also announced the signing of wide receiver
Tyrone Williams, who played in the CFL last year for the Grey Cup
champion Toronto Argonauts. For the Argonauts, Williams caught 60
passes for 895 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Williams was originally a 9th round draft choice of the
Cardinals in 1992 and played with the Cowboys in 1993.
My Comments:
The signing of Thomas and Williams is not particularly
exciting. Thomas didn't really show a lot last year and Tyrone
Williams couldn't make it in the NFL before.
