Dolphins News: Fryar Signs With Eagles
*** DOLPHINS NEWS ***
Mar 19, 1996: -- Fryar Signs With Eagles --
Following the lead of Troy Vincent, wide receiver Irving Fryar
signed a three year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles today for
undisclosed terms. Fryar, who had spent his last three years with the
Dolphins, was reportedly looking for a deal for $2 million a year.
In his 3 years with the Dolphins, Fryar caught 199 passes for
3,190 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also made the Pro-Bowl after the
1993 and 1994 seasons.
My Comments:
It was inevitable that Fryar would be gone once Fred Barnett
signed with the Dolphins. He had a fine 3 years with Miami, but
wanted too much money and didn't fit into Jimmy Johnson's plans.
