Dolphins News: Lynch Waived; Davis Signed

*** DOLPHINS NEWS ***

Jul 21, 1995: -- Lynch Waived; Davis Signed --

The Dolphins announced yesterday that they have waived fullback Tarrant Lynch, a 5'11" 226 lb rookie out of Alabama. Lynch has been injured since the start of training camp and has been unable to participate with the team.

To take his place, the Dolphins have re-signed fullback Michael Davis, a rookie from Mississippi State. Davis was originally signed after the draft, but was later released by the Dolphins.

Davis was a 4 year letterman at Mississippi State, finishing his college career with 2,226 yards. During his best year in college, he gained 929 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. He was assigned number 36 and has already begun practice with the Dolphins.

My Comments:

I had heard pretty good things about Lynch, even though he wasn't drafted, so it's a shame that his ankle knocked him off the team. He probably wouldn't have made the team in any case, but it's always sad when the rookies don't get a chance.

Davis was already released once, so it would take a miracle for him to make the team.
