Dolphins' News: Louis Oliver Signs With 'Phins
*** DOLPHINS NEWS ***
May 16, 1995: -- Louis Oliver Signs With 'Phins --
The Dolphins announced this afternoon that they had signed free
agent safety Louis Oliver to a 2 year deal for undisclosed terms.
Oliver, a former first round draft pick of the Dolphins, spent 5
years with the team before being signed by the Bengals last season as
an unrestricted free agent.
Oliver was released by the Bengals this spring due to salary cap
problems and Oliver's injuries.
Oliver has 24 interceptions in 6 years of playing in the NFL.
My Comments:
Yee-haw! Oliver's back! The Dolphins get some depth at safety!
What a concept!
I'm sorry about the outburst, but this is really a fine addition
to the depth of the defense. Oliver already knows the system and we
all know how he fits in and what he can do. The only real question
mark is his health and the Dolphins probably wouldn't have signed him
if they thought he was too damaged to contribute.
This leaves the Dolphin Defense thin at only one spot - outside
linebacker.
